Medical Marijuana licenses are decreasing the crime rate in areas like North Central Regina. As more people become licensed and thus removed from the black market aspects of marijuana, crime rates seem to be plummeting when compared to previous years. There is speculation that new policing strategies are contributing to the decrease but when a good majority of the drug related charges are marijuana(26,000 grams of pot were seized by Regina police in 2010), the result of helping these people become legal users and growers undoubtedly effects those numbers profoundly. Understanding the relations between street drugs and crime is essential for understanding how to make improvements to today’s crime problems. When shopping for vegetables, someone could go to either a vegetable stand or a grocery store. If they go to a vegetable stand, they will be offered vegetables.  If they go to the grocery store however, they will be able to find not only vegetables, but also countless other foods. A grocery store may be more convenient if they are looking to get more than just vegetables, but if veggies are the only thing on their list, then the grocery store may be distracting and encourage them to buy and eat other foods that they would have otherwise avoided entirely. This is the same as a marijuana dealer having a “vegetable” stand(marijuana shop) vs. a marijuana dealer being forced to have a section in the grocery store( or in this case the black market).The grocery store is not limited to vegetables, and the black market is not limited to marijuana. People seeking out the effects of marijuana may be directed to another harsher, more dangerous drug due to the convenience, availability or because they trust the salesman. That is where the danger of prohibition roots from. Referring to the vegetables as a “gateway” substance to other foods seems far fetched in a grocery store environment, but is no different than referreing to marijuana as a gateway drug to other substances in the black market environment.

It is perhaps a question of what came first?- The need for nutritional vegetables or a grocery store filled with vegetables and many other foods, some being very unhealthy? Marijuana as medicine or the black market filled with many other more harmful substances? History reads that vegetables were being eaten before they were marketed and  marijuana has been around long before the black market it’s now tied into.

Head 2 Head Novelties in Regina recognizes this direct link between the potential dangers involved with medical marijuana and the black market, and have been assisting citizens in becoming legal for many years. Regina was once considered the most dangerous place to live in Canada and is now being recognized as a city with a growing population and diminishing crime rates. Many variables are surely affecting this positive change, but dedication from the crew at Head 2 Head assisting with marijuana licensing is definitely playing a huge role in the changes. Fewer citizens are receiving unnecessary possession and grow charges with the help of their legal licensing, and even the drug addiction problems in North Central seems to be getting more under control. There are more legal users and growers and thus safer ways to access marijuana, making for fewer reasons to seek it out through the dangers of the black market.

Citizens do not need to redirect their future with unnecessary drug charges and as these licenses become more popular, the positive changes are bound to continue.

Pipe shopping for the first time is always an exciting event and knowing what to look for in your new piece is key to ensuring that you get the most out of your experience. It is important to consider things like the materials used to make the pipe, the durability, price, size and shape, where it came from, who made it and how long it will last.

Pipes have been around for thousands of years and are made from many different materials including stone, wood, steel, titanium, brass, aluminum, ceramic and glass. Pipes made of different materials have different qualities and depending on what you’re looking for in your pipe, you may prefer specific materials over others. Ceramic for example does not heat up as quickly as steel, brass or aluminum but is more likely to break when dropped. Wood may also stay at a cooler temperature, but is often much more difficult to clean.

The first step is deciding what qualities you are looking for in a pipe. Are you going to want something small? Durable? Big? Extravagant? Colorful?  Unique?  Functional? Do you want something that is easy to travel with? Discreet? Concealable? Something with a big chamber? Easy to clean? Do you want a rush hole? Something that cools the smoke? A pipe with a stash built into it? A cute, scary or evil pipe?  A piece that sparks conversation? Do you prefer something that works well, something that looks nice, or a nice combination of both?

Qualities to Consider

Material- What your pipe is made of is one of the most important aspects to consider. Having a safe material is essential to making sure your smoking experience is kept as safe as possible.  The safest material to smoke out of would probably be glass or stone as they do not burn or break down like other materials. Because it is the most commonly preferred material, I will be referring back to glass throughout the write-up.

Glass is the most commonly preferred material of pipe as it doesn’t break like metal,  it’s easy to clean and doesn’t give any added flavor to the herbs. There is also a wide variety of styles and designs available and it is considered a safe material to smoke out of. The safest metal to smoke out of would be something like titanium as it doesn’t heat up and break down as quickly as most metals (aluminum heating up and breaking down causes metal to accumulate around the brain and can lead to conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease.) Wood tends to slightly burn in the bowl but being a natural substance, as long as it is not coated with sap, lacquer or paint, is relatively safe to smoke out of. Stone pipes are heavy and don’t break down like metal pipes making them relatively safe as well.

Durability- How strong does the pipe have to be to survive your lifestyle? Where will it be used and what circumstances will it have to endure? I would recommend a durable pipe first and foremost especially if you have decided to go with a glass piece. Unless you enjoy the sound of breaking glass, resin covered broken glass, or replacing your pipe on the regular, you will definitely appreciate a durable piece. There’s nothing like watching in anticipation as a pipe or glass piece falls to what seems like its end and seeing it bounce off the floor and stay in one piece to be used again.

Size- Are you looking for something that can fit in your pocket or something that will stay at home? When you are smoking out of your pipe, consider how close the flame will be to your nose and mouth.  Consider that the closer it is to your face, the more likely that the flame could burn more than what is in the bowl(nose/ eyelashes/ hair) and the hotter the smoke is bound to be. The size of the chamber that the smoke fills before reaching your mouth should be considered as well for if you are not a heavy smoker, you probably won’t want a huge chambered pipe, perhaps something skinny similar to a one-hitter instead.

Shape- If you are planning on carrying your pipe in your pocket, awkwardly shaped pipes often prove uncomfortable. A couple key aspects to think about when picking the shape: How sturdy the pipe will sit on a table and how easily it can be cleaned. Does the pipe roll when you set it down?  An aspect often overlooked while caught up in the pipe shopping moment. If you are a clumsy person or hang out with friends who tend to break things often, hooks and spikes coming off of the glass piece are probably some things to avoid. Do you want to be able to see what’s in the bowl when you are smoking? Everyone has their preference.

Appearance- Aside from the shape and size, color and transparency can be considered. Some people like a brightly colored pipe that can be easily located. Other people prefer an earth-toned pipe as it’s more easily concealed. The transparency can be important for anyone who enjoys watching the smoke go through the pipe or who enjoys watching fumed glass pipes change color. Some people however, do not like to see their pipe getting dirty and therefore tend to stick to a solid color.

Head 2 Head Novelties in Regina Saskatchewan has started 2011 fully ‘stalked’ and ready for the growth that has proven to be the theme of the year.  The expansion has proven to make for a much more comfortable atmosphere as people flood into the shop in groups and stay to check out the progress. The plant growing in the middle of the showroom sparks curiosity in most and the constant rotation of glass keeps the word of mouth about the shop in high gear.

The number of marijuana applications distributed, filled out and sent to Health Canada is record setting not only within the government program, but within the Helping Saskatchewan Grow movement. Although the average number of mailed applications was approximately 1-2 applications a month in previous years, the shop now averages an application every couple of days. Doctors’ support for the marihuana program is sharply increasing, making for an easier process for future clients. The number and variety of medical specialists signing and conditions they are signing for is also increasing. B2 Applications are becoming more popular with symptoms and conditions varying from muscle pain to trouble sleeping, obsessive compulsive disorder to migraines.

Renovations are scheduled to continue throughout the year. The back room is looking beautiful with the recent improvements and is now open to clients for meetings. This is a great place for discussing ideas for positive changes in our medical communities and sustainable living arrangements for generations to come.

The lady growing in the showroom is a Mr. Nice Guy x Blueberry and has a few weeks left to go before it is time to harvest her. Her potent smelling flowers are a constant reminder to those of us who have beared through the winter, that blooms are on the way.

Head 2 Head is proud to be a part of this revolution and Canada’s Marijuana Headquarters. The term cruelty is often used in law and criminology with regard to the treatment of animals, children, spouses, and prisoners. When cruelty to animals is discussed, it often refers to unnecessary suffering. In criminal law, it refers to punishment, torture, victimization, draconian measures, and cruel and unusual punishment.

How does it work?
Cruelty needs a victim, someone to be cruel to. Who better to pick on than those who are easy targets…the weak, the sick, the disadvantaged, the disabled…you get the idea. How much fight do most sick and or injured people have? After all they do have to look after themselves. How much stress is involved with fighting the WCB, SGI or Social Services? Is it worth it to fight these government bodies? For instance did you know the Sask WCB has legislation that states no WCB employee can be held accountable for any act done or omitted? Did you know that anyone that works on you when you are injured at work becomes an employee of the WCB and even they are protected by this legislation?
Everyone knows that there are those who take advantage of and/or abuse “the system”!
This small group of “system abusers’ are the socially acceptable excuse used for those in power to be cruel to everyone that needs “the system”. We have all heard or even said, “it’s those few bad apples that are making it tough for those who really deserve it”!
The only problem with this way of thinking is simply this… it is in fact only a very few, that are actually abusing “the system”… everyone, including those that work in “the system”, knows this truth. It would seem however, that “the system” never got the memo that it is only a small number that are screwing “the system”.
The question is this, who, is “the system” screwing in order to protect “the system” from getting screwed?
According to the WCB’s 2009 annual report they have a client satisfaction rate of 4.16 out of 5 or 83.2%? According to SaskatchewanCruelty.com the most complained about government body is the Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Board. Ask any ten people on the street how they think the WCB treats injured workers, you get a completely different answer, or try this- call your local provincial MLA and ask this question, which government body gets the most complaints? The reply is the Sask WCB!
Of the 951 WCB appeals received in 2009, 183 were won by the claimants according to the WCB annual report. A WCB satisfaction rating of, 19.24 % or just under 1 out of 5. Unless you believe those claimants were happy they lost their appeals?

Many others and myself are so happy to hear that a man like Neil Magnuson will be with this crew to expose a failed war on Marijuana. Which, may I add, is not only a war on this magnificent plant, but a war on people. If the crew that Neil is traveling with has even half of the heart that he does, the film should show not only some kick ass grow shots and new strains, but also expose the answer to this injustice. Regardless the trip has been deemed The “BC Bud” Chronicles Still Trippin .I am sure they will not go Head 2 Head with Prairie Pot in any negative way, for we all share the common goal; to free this plant and free the people.

This tour could not have come at a better time. It will not only be timed with the near-completion of  Head2Head High- school the way it should have been, but it’s also harvest time around our country. What a great opportunity to show the world Saskatchewan’s potential as the leaders in marijuana production.

The US has the Emerald Triangle and Canada has the prairies- Why else would we have the police breeding grounds here? lol. So I wish Neil and his crew a safe trip here and all around Canada. Maybe the sheer number of police and RCMP we have in our city has helped people realize how important it is that you take the steps to becoming a legal user of cannabis. This I believe is the only reason for our great success with Helping Sask Grow , regardless of our rocky start at the Green Canvas.

I will take this time to apologize for the absence of my time on the web site. The court case I have been representing myself in now for 7 months is coming to a end. I am pleased to inform everyone it is coming along extremely well and success is looking promising in both of my appeals. The Global Marijuana March is a worldwide week- long event that has been taking place for 11 years now in support of the legalization and acceptance of marijuana. This year, there are already over 300 countries taking part in this celebration with more joining everyday. As citizens gather at the city’s designated location (Vic Park in Regina), it becomes very effortless to recognize how widely used this herb truly is. People often begin to gather in the early afternoon, with numbers peaking around 4:20pm. The cannabis movement would not be where it is today if if weren’t for the education, love and dedication that Jack Herer displayed throughout his life.
