Many others and myself are so happy to hear that a man like Neil Magnuson will be with this crew to expose a failed war on Marijuana. Which, may I add, is not only a war on this magnificent plant, but a war on people. If the crew that Neil is traveling with has even half of the heart that he does, the film should show not only some kick ass grow shots and new strains, but also expose the answer to this injustice. Regardless the trip has been deemed The “BC Bud” Chronicles Still Trippin .I am sure they will not go Head 2 Head with Prairie Pot in any negative way, for we all share the common goal; to free this plant and free the people.

This tour could not have come at a better time. It will not only be timed with the near-completion of  Head2Head High- school the way it should have been, but it’s also harvest time around our country. What a great opportunity to show the world Saskatchewan’s potential as the leaders in marijuana production.

The US has the Emerald Triangle and Canada has the prairies- Why else would we have the police breeding grounds here? lol. So I wish Neil and his crew a safe trip here and all around Canada. Maybe the sheer number of police and RCMP we have in our city has helped people realize how important it is that you take the steps to becoming a legal user of cannabis. This I believe is the only reason for our great success with Helping Sask Grow , regardless of our rocky start at the Green Canvas.

I will take this time to apologize for the absence of my time on the web site. The court case I have been representing myself in now for 7 months is coming to a end. I am pleased to inform everyone it is coming along extremely well and success is looking promising in both of my appeals. You will be sure to hear more about this as time progresses and I hope you stick with us online for there is a ton of great content coming up. Hopefully, this year’s freedom tour will be the first sneak peek at all of the upcoming events and new things at  Head 2 Head. Overall I cant wait to see an old friend and make some new ones.

The Global Marijuana March is a worldwide week- long event that has been taking place for 11 years now in support of the legalization and acceptance of marijuana. This year, there are already over 300 countries taking part in this celebration with more joining everyday. As citizens gather at the city’s designated location (Vic Park in Regina), it becomes very effortless to recognize how widely used this herb truly is. From the young adults with epilepsy, chronic pain or anxiety to the seniors with arthritis or stomach problems, it seems this herb touches thousands on a very deep, personal level. This is not an herb with a history of violence or dangerous side effects. It is a source of comfort, relief, relaxation and improved health for many across the world.

People often begin to gather in the early afternoon, with numbers peaking around 4:20pm. From then, the crew will usually take a short walk to a park nearby or even just a circle around a few blocks with signs and flags that support a cannabis lifestyle. A cloud of smoke and enthusiastic cheers from passing traffic often follow the crowd for the promenade, making it exciting and fun to be a part of.

There is often music, speeches and posters following the march as well as information and useful resources regarding marijuana, ensuring entertainment for all. It’s definitely an event worth checking out!  Make like this promising plant and show support! After all, the best buds stick together!

An Art Jam Poetry Slam is being hosted at The Green Canvas Art Gallery Saturday, February 20th, from noon- 5:00p.m. There will be an all-day open mic and painting session. The goal is to gather local artists and combine their creative inspiration. Group paintings, and musical jams are expected to continue throughout the day with a variety of colors and instruments to choose from.

Feel free to bring any instruments or art supplies that you think could contribute to making this Art Jam a success.

The Green Canvas offers space free of charge for healing practices such as massage therapy, acupuncture, physiotherapy, among others. There is also a free seminar held every Friday at 4:20 p.m that informs citizens about how to acquire a license to legally use or grow marijuana. This includes a brief description of symptoms and diseases that marijuana can be prescribed for. Although this is often a surprise to the general public, it is old news to the medical communities. Marijuana can be prescribed to treat a variety of symptoms and diseases ranging from nausea, seizures and pain management, to arthritis, AIDS, cancer and epilepsy.

Many doctors recognize the wide variety of uses for cannabis, be it in fiber or medicine. They understand that if marijuana were to become more mainstream and popular than it already is, the demand would plummet for the majority of the pills found on counters of pharmacies and many pills would even be replaced by this natural remedy. When doctors’ practices depend so much on the synthetic treatments as opposed to natural preventative measures, an establishment like The Green Canvas is very threatening. However, when a doctor’s practice is inspired through the desire to help people, providing them with safe medical advice, and treating them in the most efficient, safe manners, The Green Canvas is like a dream come true.

One in every two people is expected to get cancer in their life and marijuana is known to stop the growth of cancers and even begin shrinking them. This preventative measure could change our society and make this a disease of the past. Arthritis becomes common to people over 35 years old with osteoarthritis becoming apparent as you age. Marijuana is prescribed to help with the pain and also the inflammation surrounding the joints. Preventing this inflammation and production of cancerous cells could change the lives of millions.

Marijuana is threatening to pharmaceutical companies, and justifiably so. It is a safer, more effective herb than the majority of other prescriptions on the market and does not leave patients dependent on it.  It can treat and cure some of the most common diseases of today and pharmaceutical companies are aware of this. The future of The Green Canvas is being jeopardized due to its dedication to informing the public on marijuana as well the threat it presents to pharmaceutical companies. These marijuana seminars will hopefully continue in the near future, but for now, we at HSC recommend catching what may be the last seminars on Fridays, at 4:20 p.m. This world does not need more natural remedies; it just needs more awareness of the natural remedies already available.

Metaphorically, the pharmacies have been building themselves giant “castles of sand”. But we all know that “Castles made of sand, slip into the sea… eventually”. So how about a sea of green?  The revolution starts now.

Imagine a sign that reads “High Quality Marijuana Products” leaning against a tree in front of a ganja-leaf printed shop. It’s as if you are dreaming as you walk past a warning door sign, to see a living, breathing cannabis plant glowing from behind the glass case.  Before long you are greeted by a knowledgeable crew member who informs you that the cure for most of mankind’s’ ailments has been found to be cannabis.  This is however, not a dream. This seemingly magical place, is Head 2 Head found in Saskatchewan‘s capital, the Queen City.

This recently expanded shop was opened by Tim Selenski in 2001, just in time for the legalization of marijuana in Canada.  Tim Selenski is one of 77 people who obtained a license as a designated grower in the first year of the Medical Marihuana Program.  He now produces some of the highest quality marijuana in the province for medical users and believes that there is unlimited potential for more than just Saskatchewan’s economy in the fields of cannabis.   “It starts with our generation to build a foundation for a healthy, sustainable planet.” Says Selenski,” Supporting ‘Helping Saskatchewan Grow’ would make our province a global leader. We could provide everything from healthier ozone through proper growing techniques to medicines, fibers and fuel.  We could use the medicines of cannabis to heal the sick, and to prevent illness in the healthy. We could then use the fibers for everything from building materials like linoleum and hemp-crete to clothing and blankets.”

What is ‘Helping Saskatchewan Grow‘? ‘Helping Saskatchewan Grow’ is a movement that brings farmers back to the fields of Saskatchewan to benefit from the once cash-crop in the Queen City; cannabis. Strangely enough, it is now being controlled mainly by drug cartels that set the price in the country’s most conservative city, selling upwards of $560/oz. Some say this expensive high-grade marijuana has supported Saskatchewan through global economic crisis, leaving its capital as the fastest growing city in the country. As the awareness of this plants economic potential continues to rise, we are now seeing familiar faces returning home from heading south, east and especially west to become a part this social economic change.

The growing potential of this province becomes apparent as you walk into a place like The Green Canvas located at 1621 11th Ave. What was once a rundown Regina business has now been transformed into a beautiful 1800sq. ft Art Gallery that donates space to alternative healing of all kinds. Anyone involved in alternative healing methods ranging from practices like acupuncture, massage therapy and diet, to yoga and martial arts training are welcome to use the space provided.  Tim Selenski was the first to use this space to hold free seminars every Friday at 4:20 pm. These seminars guide people in acquiring their legal license for medical marijuana.  It teaches the public how to become law-abiding, taxpaying citizens while keeping themselves free from the risks rooted directly from prohibition. He describes potential dangers of using cannabis without a license such as the risk of incarceration for as little as a 2 gram possession charge. A minor possession charge could affect not only ones ability to travel, but could also jeopardize their career plans.  Through the education obtained from these free seminars, it becomes clear that these dangers can be entirely avoided. However, despite the legal awareness that these informative discussions provide, local newspapers have repeatedly denied advertising of this establishment and show no support to informing Regina’s citizens’ safe legal ways to access marijuana.

One legal avenue to obtain medical marijuana is through Health Canada’s Medical Marijuana Division. With a license to possess, one can purchase from either the federal government or a designated grower like Tim Selenski. Some doctors are reluctant to prescribe this type of medicine despite Health Canada’s extensive research that proves its ability to help with the symptoms of countless ailments such as cancer, epilepsy, anxiety and many more.  Considering the 30 million dollars that was recently given to the bio-pharmaceutical company, Prairie Plant Systems, located just outside of Saskatoon,  one would assume that the medical grade of cannabis grown in this type of facility be higher than that of a man who started with only $5,000. THC testing of the medical grade cannabis has proven otherwise. While Health Canada’s product tested as labeled on the package 12.5%, Tim’s high-grade product was found to be more than double the potency. Imagine the medicine this man could provide with even a small portion of these 30 million dollars that we as tax payers, have already paid for.

These funds are not available from the federal government for growers like Tim. This is what brings Head 2 Head and The Green Canvas together. With the financial support of the shop along with the gallery spreading awareness and providing space for alternative healing methods as well as safe, legal access to marijuana,  a stable foundation is being built for an unstoppable marijuana movement that begins here in the Queen City.  There are a couple of ways to become a part of this movement and none of which are very difficult. One way is drop by the shop on Dewdney or attend the seminars to make sure you are educated about the legal standing of marijuana in Saskatchewan. Secondly, become a member of the online movement at www.headshopcanada.com. This site is full of information and will keep you posted on what’s going on in the world of ganja and how it relates to your life. It also allows you to comment and network with others from all over the world to discuss ideas for positive change.   This site proves that dedication and good intent travel further and faster than most tax-payers money. This network of knowledge will undeniably benefit thousands of people worldwide through articles, pictures and countless videos.

Now imagine this:  An unlimited supply of information falls to your doorstep that helps you to treat the ailments of you and your loved ones while contributing to sustainable living practices. It seems like a dream as medication costs go down while treatment proves to be more and more successful.   Growing support for the herb allows companies to become more established, providing citizens with safe, legal access to this promising herb. This is, however, not a dream. This is Saskatchewan on the rise. The information is out there, it’s just well hidden for the most part. Do research, learn the facts, and begin the healing of yourself and the nation through this wonderful herb. The time has come for our farming roots to allow us to flourish in this province as a whole, so let us work together in “Helping Saskatchewan Grow”.

We’ve been waiting for what feels like forever to get to this stage of renovations and as loose ends are getting tied slowly but surely, the shop is looking fabulous. With an additional 5 display cases and plenty of shelf space, an incredible glass selection fills these walls. From  hand pipes to bongs, bubblers to vaporizers, the assortment of high quality glass seems to be limitless.

We have double the available space for Ganja literature so we will be stocking up on several different ganja magazines, grow-books and dvd’s just in time for the holidays. We’ve designated a spot for local musicians to put their music, and invite young artists to come check it out as it is a wonderful opportunity to explore the Queen

City’s music scene, and better yet, to become a part of it. We also have plenty of information regarding The Green Canvas Art Gallery as well as the steps to becoming a part of the  “Helping Saskatchewan Grow” Marijuana Movement.

We at Head to Head realize that this wonderful shop wouldn’t exist without the ever-growing support from our customers and are continuously grateful. Over the years there have been countless articles and media coverage that often has mislead the average viewer into believing we were located where we aren’t, moved to another province, and even shut down completely . However, despite the tricks of the television and newspapers, people continue to visit and support the shop. Word of mouth is usually how people hear about this shop, and apparently what keeps them coming back.

The plants are thriving, the glass is shining and the shop seems to have a whole new glow to it. Curious faces stroll in and smiling faces stroll out, welcoming the holiday season with enlightening perspectives. The renovations are looking amazing, and  have certainly transformed this little shop  into a comfortable place impossible to forget.

The owner of Head 2 Head, Tim Selenski, is very upset once again to have people in the media trying to publicly slander and destroy the reputation of his business while helping others flourish on supporting drug cartels and capitalistic businesses. It seems not even a full year can go by without the newspapers or television news stories misleading the public about the most controversial head shop in Canada. This is holding back the progress of one of the most important revolutionary movements of mankind.

In the past, there have been countless twists on words used by the media that imply the shop closing, moving, and even having a completely different location. For example, one story released across the country was titled,  ”Legal Grower forced to B.C”.  Realistically, no legal grower was forced anywhere. Infact Tim Selenski, the grower of whom they were speaking of, was actually struggling to obtain insurance for his home and shop. He was being refused insurance and discriminated against from local agencies due to the “type of business” he ran- “marijuana related”. Being related to a medicine that has been prescribed across the country by doctors through Health Canada for over 6 years to treat countless ailments such as cancer, epilepsy, anxiety, eating disorders, etc, you would think that government agencies would be more than happy to support this establishment. This was not the case. Tim later obtained this insurance out of Edmonton(The only province in Canada that had less than 50% supporting marijuana legalization). However, because of this article released, many people (including long-time customers) were under the impression that Head 2 Head was no longer in the Queen City, but instead closed up and moved west. With the memory of reading  “Legal grower forced to B.C”, they were genuinely surprised when they drove by to see their favourite shop still open and growing, especially after seeking help elsewhere for months thinking they’d lost the Queen City’s top shop.  This is only the beginning of how the media has slandered this business.

The latest article regarding the shop was no better. This was released by the University of Regina’s Student Newspaper “the Carillon” Vol.52, Issue.9 on November 5. First of all, Jim Selenski does not own Head 2 Head. Tim Selenski owns Head 2 Head.  It’s not difficult to spell, nor to spell check and so to have a completely wrong name seems completely inappropriate. Secondly, next to a very brief description of the shop, there has been a convenient misprint of the address. How is it so hard to make sure you are giving the public a proper address?  Now when people are searching for the education, information and guidance Head to Head offers, they will be wrongfully directed to a location that lacks all of the above.  The shops proper address is 2923 Dewdney Avenue in Regina, Sask, and will remain there as long as this war on drugs continues.

This is very infuriating to the dedicated crew at Head2Head. Thanks to long hours, dedication and hard work the shop has recently doubled in size to prepare for the Christmas season.  What a blow it is to the shop to finally have some publicity where it could really make a difference (University) and have the article sending people to the wrong address looking for a guy named Jim to help them. It is absolutely ridiculous.

Head2 Head is a shop dedicated to properly educating the public on marijuana, the world’s most promising plant. There is space for medical users to try vaporization, a safer method of inhalation, after 5p.m Mon-Fri. There is an abundance of information covering the walls inside the shop and high-quality glass at the most reasonable prices in the city.  The crew is made up of only a few, but each member is highly educated on the medicinal values of this herb, strains, grow methods, how to go about acquiring your own marijuana license, dangers of supporting the black market, dangers of  improperly grown cannabis and the list goes on.

It is almost ironic that a shop who believes so much in surfacing the truth in the world can be so misunderstood due to the lack of truth in the media. Luckily, HeadShopCanada can clear up any of these misconceptions and misleading articles for those who know to check it out.  So please, when you hear or read anything about the shop, do check out the site to make sure you are not being misled by the middleman editor and games of the media. This site is made by real people, like you and we are not here to play the guessing games about what is information and what is propaghanda.
